Basic Bicycle Maintenance as part of the Leyton Station Cycle Hub promotion. Now open to all Waltham Forest residents (live, work or study).

On this beginners maintenance course, you will learn to perform an 'M' check - Outlining the parts of the bike.

You will then learn how to repair a puncture – which will also include changing an inner tube and getting the back wheel in and out easily, getting the tyre on and off easily and how not to puncture the tube again straight away.

Getting the chain back on if it falls off and some basic principles of gear adjustment if your gears become noisy between shifting gear.

You will then learn when and how to change a brake pad on rim brakes.

This course is a beginners guide to some common problems, as such we do not cover disc brakes in demonstration, however, let us know if you have disc brakes in advance of the course.
