Your instructor will meet you in a park or other location of your choosing, assess everyone’s abilities and talk to you about what you’d like to get out of your training. After some initial off-road training, if you're all ready to ride on the road, you will progress onto quiet roads and, if appropriate, tackle more challenging conditions. You will also cover how best to cycle on the road as a group so that you are well prepared to enjoy future outings as a family on your bikes.
Sessions are for up to 3 people and at least one trainee must be an adult. Please be aware that where groups have very different ages or abilities, instructors need to pace training to suit the least able.
Lessons can take place during daylight hours any day of the week, including weekends and the duration of a lesson is 2 hours. At the end of your session, you are invited to talk to your instructor about whether you would like to book a follow-up lesson.
In most cases, all trainees will need to have a bicycle of their own (though there may be some availability of bicycles to borrow – please check with us well in advance).
