This carefully marshalled group bike ride is ideal for families, adults new to or returning to cycling and those who enjoy marshalled social rides with a minimum interaction with traffic.

We will start and finish in the park. The length of the ride is between five to six miles, using a mainly off-road route (Roding Valley Way*) along the river to go through Roding Valley Park before riding back through Woodford using quieter roads where possible. Riding time should be about 1.5 hours at a leisure pace.

The marshalls will check the bikes before the ride starts. We have also factored in some time for breaks during the ride to look at things or fix a puncture etc. There is a cafe in the park for a drink and some food afterwards.

If you don't have a bicycle, there are bikes and helmets available to borrow at the meeting point.

Come and join us for a fun relaxing day exploring your borough!

*Roding Valley Way connects Woodford to Ilford using a traffice free paths and short on-road sections. Although we will only use part of this route, it can be a surprisingly quiet route for commute or leisure rides with a countryside feel. You can also veer off route to cross over to Wanstead Flats.
